Submit a Joke for “Joke of the Week”

Submitting a joke is simple! Record on your voice notes app either with just your student, or student and parent.

  1. Find a recording app on your phone (often called Voice Memo or Voice Recorder).

  2. Use the script below and fill in the blanks with your joke!

  3. Hit record and record your 30 second segment

  4. Email that recording to joke@zipcast.media with the subject line “JOKE SUBMISSION”

  5. Listen this fall to hear if your joke was selected!

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you, and keep the energy up!

SOLO STUDENT SCRIPT: “Welcome to the Joke of the Week Segment! My name is ______ and I am in ____ grade at_____[school name]___ in [city and state]. Here is my joke: _______[joke].... Pause for 3 seconds… ____[answer]!”

STUDENT AND PARENT SCRIPT:

Student: Welcome to the Joke of the Week Segment! My name is ______ and I am in ____ grade at_____[school name]___. Today I have a joke for my __[relation, mom/dad etc]_____Hey mom/dad _______

Student: [Tells joke].... 

Parent: [answers/guesses]

Student: [Answers Joke]
