Frequently Asked Questions

 FAQs

  • A wise educator once said, “One of the most important things you can do as a head of school is to be in the carpool line each morning, opening doors and greeting families.” Likewise, when a school leader starts the week on a ZipCast spending just 2–3 minutes sharing stories, offering encouragement, and providing updates, it helps connect their voice to the community—strengthening relationships, building awareness, and fostering understanding.

In a world where emails, newsletters and in-person events are competing for attention, it's time for ZipCast - your voice to your people!

  • Parents scan a simple QR code at the beginning of the year and sign up via text to get the weekly ZipCast.  Each week they are reminded (typically Mondays around 7am) of the latest episode, they just click and listen on a simple web browser. No complicated apps to download!

  • We hope the 10 mins or so required in the week to listen can happen together as a family - often driving in the car on the way to school.   ZipCasts are best experienced as a shared audio activity rather than an isolated head down/looking at a screen experience. Our 90-second segments serve as informative previews, sparking deeper discussions and longer engagements with content and embodied community.

  • Preparing your own ZipCast using your local voice talent only takes a few minutes each week yet it makes a BIG impact. Some school leaders have access to an easy to use website to create, schedule and measure the ZipCast impact each week. The best custom segments are when the voices of the school share what’s on their mind (think fireside chat!) along with 3–4 key announcements. They’ll often point listeners to the ZipCast show notes, the school newsletter, or other resources for more details. Think of ZipCast as your megaphone—amplifying all your communication in one clear, consistent voice.

Prefer not to record? No problem. We also offer an option to send in written updates, and our professional voice talent will read them for you. It sounds great, but let’s be honest…nothing beats hearing directly from someone your school community knows and trusts.

  • ZipCast pricing is based on student enrollment, with a sliding scale to fit schools of all sizes and budgets. Whether you're a small start-up or a large school with over 1,000 students, there’s a plan for you—ranging from $2,000 to a max of $4,800 per year.

Here’s the best part: many schools get ZipCast for free or at a reduced rate by partnering with families whose businesses sponsor the show. Their business gets a shoutout, and your school gets ZipCast—it’s that simple. Just ask us how!

With an average cost of about $75 a week, you’re reaching every parent, every week, for 40 weeks a year. That’s impact. Our goal? To be the best value of any resource your school invests in. Remember it is your voice customized to your people every week!

  • We like how you are thinking! Coming in 2025 will be a totally new ZipCast system that will allow you to record and "drop in" segments you record locally with content from our growing syndicated library.  Stay tuned!

The basic package comes with 1)your school’s branded audio welcome 2) a full customized segment that is used for the “fireside chat” moment along with 3) a few news highlights. "ZipCast has transformed the way we engage with our parents. They are aware, committed and supportive in ways I haven’t seen before."
